Unusually we have been hit by the recent snowy weather too (snow doesn't usually bother with this little corner, surrounded as we are by so much water). Not far away there is a lane that often floods; and the combination of the chilly weather and the flooded lane have given us this:
Every time a car drives through the puddle the hedge is sprayed with water; it had a few more soakings as we watched. Isn't it lovely?
oh it's beautiful! there was a road in dover recently where a waterpipe had burst, same effect but not as good as yours.
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous. I spotted a similar one near here but couldn't work out how/why it had formed, I never thought of puddle spray! Thanks for clarifying it :-)
ReplyDeleteAmazing - thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe cars come round a bend with a fair bit of speed and hit the puddle at just the right angle to cause a long plume of spray (taking photos was a trifle hazardous!)
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos! I've got a spot near me that gets icicles like that (though not as large!) but it's an impossible place to take photos safely so I just have to grab quick looks - thanks for sharing these images :)
ReplyDeleteIt would have been a bit dicey taking photos here but fortunately there are temporary traffic lights just round the bend at the moment so we knew we were safe for a few minutes!
DeleteWow, these are amazing! I live in the countryside and I havnt seen anything like this before.
