Charcoal Drawings
I have a love/hate relationship with charcoal. I love what other people can do with it and generally hate what I do! But in my new spirit of 'try anything, practice more' I did these.
I don't hate them! Which is a step in the right direction I guess... I scanned these rather than photographed them - I'm not sure about the result - back to the camera next time I think.

I think they're great sketches. Charcoal is useful for really quick sketches I think because one stick has a whole lot of thicknesses you can use. Messy though! But maybe that's just me.

ReplyDeleteAnd I nearly knocked myself out sealing them with hairspray - how do people spray that at their heads???!!
hairspray is terrific for sealing, isn't it? I always had some cheap-as-chips spray in my classrooms, the parents must have wondered why seeing as my hair never seemed to benefit.
